Time for another ‘putting the fun in funeral’ post!
I don’t get a huge amount of free time at the moment, but somehow I seem to spend most of it aimlessly browsing the internet. One of my regular ways of wasting time is browsing Etsy. Every now and again, I type in ‘gravestone’ or ‘cemetery’ just to see what cool things pop up. It seems that just lately, there are a lot of awesome things – and it’s nowhere near Halloween yet! Although just after Halloween is also a great time to run this search – because of sales of course…
I thought I would list a few of the things I’m lusting over here for my lovely readers. There are some home decor items on my list (for the distant future when I own my own place…) and a fair bit of jewellery – someone save my bank account!
*DISCLAIMER* I am not affiliated with any of these Etsy shops and have not purchased any of these products – always check reviews before ordering! *END DISCLAIMER*
First a couple of really pretty rings. I love terrariums and I really want to make one for my windowsill, but this ring would be really cool to carry around with me too! I might not be able to kill this one with my lack of Green Thumb either…The other one is so incredibly detailed – I especially love the gate and steps detail on the band of the ring!
I really like the description of the fragrance of this candle; ‘The scent of freshly dug, wet dirt mingles with antique sandalwood. Imagine you’re standing in the oldest burial ground, taking in the crisp air as the autumn leaves rustle around your feet’. I also love that the image on the jar is from Charter Street Cemetery in Salem and that the candle is made right there in Salem too.
There are a lot of cool necklaces on Etsy too, it was hard to narrow it down to my favourites. In the end I picked these two. The first one is really simple and sweet, it would be perfect for everyday wear. The second one is much more showy, but it’s also amazing and I have some outfits it would be perfect for!
Another piece which just has my aesthetic written all over it, in this case quite literally. I really like old advertising images in general but ones for undertakers, coffin manufacturers and so on are an especial favourite. It might take some persuasion for my other half to agree to this gracing our hypothetical sofa though!
And finally, a cute addition for DIY projects – I really want to put these buttons on a cardigan or a dress!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! If you know of any other awesome cemetery themed items out there on the web, please let me know!! I will thank you, my wallet may not…
