Remnants and Traces Exhibitions at The Coffin Works
A series of mini-exhibitions by the Midlands Textile Forum, exploring their responses to Newman Brothers Coffin Fitting Factory.
‘We’ve visited the building pre and post restoration, looked at its history and contents finding interest in small details, observing and noting what remains of the evidence left behind. We’ve been inspired by memory, the act of remembering, mortality and funerary practices’
3-27 February – featuring work by Diana Browne, Sarah Cage, Claire Cooper Walsh and Maggie Hands.
1-27 March – featuring work by Jane Arthur, Ann Paterson, Julie Ring, Ann Brammer and Judith Rowley.
29 March – 24 April – featuring work by Jenny Beasley, Yvonne Flavell, Pat Foster, Marilyn Hall and Brenda Marshall.

Guided walks of Brompton Cemetery
Tours of this fantastic London cemetery take place on Sundays twice a month in Winter, beginning at 2pm. For February the tours will be on the 8th and 22nd. Suggested donation of £6.

Spring 2015 Lecture Series at Glasnevin
‘Becoming Revoluntionary: The year before 1916
Lectures in conjunction with Trinity College Dublin exploring what key figures of the 1916 revolution were doing in 1915.

Now this an event I really wish I could attend, unfortunately weeknights in London aren’t at all feasible at the moment!
Taking place in the Chapel at Highgate Cemetery, this talk is at 7.30 (doors 7pm) on February 19th and the ticket price of £7 includes a glass of wine! Details are here, or you can go straight to booking a ticket through eventbrite.
Work Day at Cathays Cemetery
Get involved with the upkeep of this fabulous cemetery!
Next work Day is on February 28th, meeting at 10pm by the chapels (Fairoak Road Entrance).
The Friends of Cathays also organise a weekly walk for health on Mondays at 10.30am for 1 hour.
