Death and Burial inspired perfumes
I’ve been aware of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and their incredible range of unusual scents for a long time. I know several American bloggers who rave about their perfume and I’m still dying to try some of their fragrances out, especially the ones which appeal to the cemetery geek in me!
They have a range of death inspired scents in the Ars Moriendi (Art of Dying) catagory.
I really like the sound of all of them, but the most intriguing ones include:
Deep in Earth – Rose geranium, Spanish moss, Irish yew, and graveyard dirt.
Sadly this one is currently Out of Stock.
The Reaper and the Flowers – A funereal bouquet laid on cemetery grass: longiflorum lilies, white rose, chrysanthemum, and carnation.
Jazz Funeral – Bittersweet bay rum, bourbon, and a host of funeral flowers with a touch of graveyard dirt, magnolia and Spanish Moss.
I’d love to try them all, but sadly some are currently Out of Stock too. Of the ones that are available at the moment, I really want to try:
Marble and dust surrounded by burdock, knotweed, dandelions, daffodils, and long-dead calla lilies.
I’ve been dying to order from BPAL for ages and was looking forward to spending my Christmas money, but I think I’m going to wait until just before birthday before ordering now. I want to see if more of the scents I want to try come back into stock, because international shipping is expensive. So expect a review in April!
However if you are in the states, it’s really easy and cheap to try most of their fragrances, as they can be ordered in imp’s ear bottles for $4 each!
I hope you’ve all had a fabulous Festive season. I’m looking forward to 2015 already and all of the exciting things I have planned for this website!
